Lumsden Bike Association
Project Overview
The Lumsden Bike Association has set the stage for the creation of a community pump track in the Town of Lumsden. This versatile asphalt pump track will cater to various skill levels, focusing on beginners to intermediates. It will offer an accessible park environment for bikes, scooters, skateboards, and roller blades, making it enjoyable for all ages and abilities.

Track Construction
The Association has researched multiple methods of constructing pump tracks, and has determined that the use of asphalt leads to a low maintenance, long lasting amenity. The upkeep of an asphalt course is substantially lower than a strictly dirt track, and more robust than a concrete or wooden one. The added upfront cost will easily be offset by this reduction in maintenance.

The proposed park will consist of the main pump track, built to include 2 loops, a beginner and an intermediate, that are connected together. This will allow for new and experienced riders alike to enjoy the track in multiple ways.
The site will also include trees, park benches and a sign that will outline rules of conduct, and showcase the sponsors that helped bring the project to the community.
